Jess Beston is founder and director of unique, boutique Australian music business, “Tiny Monster”, established in 2011. Tiny Monster specialises in Artist Management, Artist Development, and Alternative Radio PR.
Jess started with a classical music education, attaining a BA (Music) at Sydney University, and was training with the Australian Opera when she discovered Radiohead, At The Drive In, Smashing Pumpkins and guitars, and everything changed. She moved to London in 1998, got a job at HMV and joined her first band, on bass. She was in bands in London and Sydney for 8 years, self-managing, moving to vox, guitar and songwriter, recording and self-releasing 4 EPs. IN 2002 she also started working at EMI, first in Licensing, then in PR/radio where she worked on campaigns for Silverchair, Missy Higgins, Phoenix, Coldplay, Radiohead etc.
In 2007 Jess was head hunted by George Ash, President of Universal Music Australia, and became A&R Manager, where she stayed for 4 years, signing some of Australia’s most loved alternative rock acts of the last decade including Children Collide, Gyroscope, Dukes of Windsor, co-signing Violent Soho with Liberation for their first record, as well as NZ’s The Naked & Famous (for Aus).
Jess A&Red Gyroscope’s album “Cohesion”, produced by Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, The Pixies). The album reached #3 on the ARIA chart, “Baby, I’m Gettin’ Better” was certified GOLD, was nominated for an APRA, was #40 in Triple J’s Hottest 100, and was #4 most played Australian song on radio. Children Collide’s first album “The Long Now”, produced by Dave Sardy (Oasis, Band of Horses), was nominated in Triple J’s Greatest Australian Albums of All Time, and their sophomore album, produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Beck), debuted at #5 on the National ARIA Album Chart, was in Triple J Listeners Top 20 albums, nominated for Rolling Stone’s Album of the Year, “My Eagle” was #60 and “Jellylegs” was #22 in Triple J’s Hottest 100, and nominated for Best Rock Album at the ARIAs.
Jess has managed Holy Holy since their inception in June 2013. They released their 3rd album, My Own Pool Of Light, in August 2019, to huge critical and fan acclaim. It has received an ARIA nomination for Best Rock Album, a J Award nomination for Album Of The Year, triple j feature album on release, was voted #5 on triple j Listener’s Best Albums of 2019, and Australian Music Prize Nominee. Both “Faces” and “Maybe You Know” hit #1 Most Played on triple j, have received airplay on Radio 1 and Radio X in the UK.
Holy Holy’s “Sentimental & Monday” is certified GOLD and “True Lovers” is certified PLATINUM. Their sophomore record Paint achieved a #7 Aria Chart debut, and held in it’s midst the stunning, “True Lovers” which hit #40 in the Hottest 100 in 2017. My Own Pool Of Light’s “Teach Me About Dying” and “Maybe You Know” came in at #61 and #50 respectively in triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2019.
Holy Holy have played many sold out headline tours across Australia including sold out shows at The Forum in Melbourne, The Tivoli in Brisbane and The Roundhouse in Sydney. They have played late afternoon slots at Falls Festival (twice), Groovin The Moo, Splendour, Bluesfest and Beyond the Valley among others, and have toured three times through the UK, The Netherlands, Germany and Spain, selling out 3 London shows and festivals such as Primavera, London Calling, Dot To Dot, The Great Escape, Liverpool Music Week and Reeperbahn.
In December 2020 Holy Holy released the shockingly fresh “Port Rd” which has hit #1 most played on triple j 4 times since November 2020, and are about to embark on a Covid-Safe tour in Jan-Mar 2021, involving 4 Forums, 3 Tivoli Theatres, and 3 Factory Theatres.
Since Mid City exploded onto the Australian and German music scenes, they have proven they are a force to be reckoned with. Breakthrough single ‘Old Habits’ hit top #9 most played on triple j, #25 on the German College Radio charts, and hit the viral top 50 chart in Germany and Australia, capturing the attention of German tv/podcast star Ollie Schlutz, who shared it with his 200k followers. Since then there has been a frenzy of attention for the Melbourne band, who just completed an epic 10 date tour of Germany and played packed out shows at both BIGSOUND and Reeperbahn in Hamburg. They have a huge 2020, having just signed to Kobalt/Awal plus, with 3 UK/EU tours locked in including Liverpool Sound City, Leeds Music Week, and Haldern Pop and Obstwiesen Festivals in Germany.

Jess Assistant Managed Neil Finn for 3 years with Bill Cullen, managed Olympia through a successful 18 month period which involved signing to “Opposite Number” in the UK, 4 international tours and some significant breakthroughs in Europe, and she managed The Trouble With Templeton, signing them with seminal UK Indie label Bella Union (Fleet Foxes, Beach House, Midlake). They toured extensively here plus 60 dates across the US, Canada, UK & Europe.
